Happy Saturday morning! š¤āļø
I hope you are having a slow Saturday with coffee or tea, and a book. My fantasy. Weāll be off to Little League flag football. Knoxās first flag football game, and I love it. I am going to thrive in my sports mom era.
I wanted to start another little weekly newsletter per se, to share the things I read or listened to in my week that were interesting, products I loved or didnāt like so much, and whatever else may pop up. Hope you enjoy it!
Read
Loved this article from the Free Press on the deeply sewn division between Iran, Israel, and the West, and how that has played out over the last decade. You wonāt see these details in legacy media articles; highly recommend it.
Do I only read the Free Press anymore? Basically. This one is from an NPR Senior Editor who wrote about the deep bias plaguing NPR, a publicly funded news source. He was suspended shortly after this was published and has since resigned. Iām certain he knew what would happen when he hit publish on this, but Iām even more grossed out by NPR now.
This article on the Chinese Communist Partyās infiltration of the US economy and intelligence systems via factories?
And this cute little ditty on how Amish kids, who are 100% unvaccinated and living completely outside of normal American life, donāt have chronic diseases!
Loving
Spring has sprung and so have lots of other fun things that require me to move out of my H+M sweatpants. Nuuly has been saving me for years when it comes to supplying me with dresses for weddings, fundraisers, and vacations. I love a rental for items outside of everyday wear, things I would want to be more trendy. I can wear the hot trend now without the hot-trend price tag, and then I donāt have to look at it sit in my closet for the next 5 years with regret.
I just started mouth-taping regularly and OMG is it changing my life. I cannot overstate this: it is changing the way I sleep. I am sleeping like a rock and lovinggg it. No 4 am wake-ups that leave me unable to return to sleep. I donāt know how, I donāt know why, but itās a must-have for me.
I bought this REI womenās pullover on a whim because it was on sale and now I donāt ever want to wear anything else.
Last, but most definitely not least: the Solawave wand. I wondered about this thing for a year before I finally bought it with some Shop App cash back and I swear that itās changing my face. Rosacea which historically only leaves my face with ample amounts of sunshine is no longer there. My skin is smoother than it has been since I had my first kid. The red light therapy in wand form actually works šš¼.
Loathe
It wouldnāt be me if there werenāt a loathing section, but this week, I was rather uncharacteristically unbothered. Except by one tiny thing: Bookcases in which the books are turned around facing the other direction in order to be aesthetically pleasing. Itās so unrealistic. Itās not genuine! Who is going to keep their books like this so that they have to flip every book to find what they are looking for?! Absolutely no one! So stop trying to sell us this idea that our bookcases need to be a palette of neutrals. š Itās just not real life.
